Raven
Raven
RAVEN are that rare thing in music, true originals – cut these guys with a razor and they will BLEED true heavy metal - a more intense live band does not exist on this planet!

Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne in North East England back in 1974 (yes – 41 YEARS ago!!!) the brothers Gallagher cut their teeth playing the pubs & clubs until solidifying their line up in 1980 with drummer Rob Hunter. The trio went on to release three of the most influential metal albums of the NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) on the Neat records label which in turn inspired every band of that era and beyond. Basically, without RAVEN you just would not have thrash/speed metal…. after all, the band did give METALLICA & ANTHRAX their first tours!

Following a tumultuous move to the USA, deals with Atlantic Records, indentured servitude and commercialism; Rob left the band in 1987 to be replaced by drummer extraordinaire JOE HASSELVANDER, who had made his name in cult doom band PENTAGRAM, SAVOY BROWN and his own solo projects, adding a new dimension to the band.

Rebuilding from the Atlantic experiences, the band capitalized on their fierce live performances steadily releasing albums and touring the world. In 2001, guitarist Mark Gallagher was involved in a near fatal accident - but fought his way back from the brink and the band proved they were stronger than ever! This renewed spirit and attitude was reflected in the title of their 2010 album “WALK THROUGH FIRE” and in the career overview DVD “ROCK UNTIL YOU DROP”.

2014 found the band opening for METALLICA (yes THAT METALLICA that RAVEN took out on their first tour back in 1983) in Sao Paulo in front of 70,000 fans, and completing a 43 date headlining USA tour – not to mention completing their finest album to date – EXTERMINATION which was released to universal acclaim from fans & critics alike in 2015!

This album combines the melody/chaos/musicianship/lunacy that defines the band with songs that are simply the best they have done in decades. Rivaling the “holy trinity” of those early albums, and again working with the engineering metal mastermind who is Kevin 131 (WALK THROUGH FIRE) – the band took their game to the next level…

2015 & 2016 had the band on tour..playing the USA, a 43-date Euro tour, festivals and territories such as South Korea & eastern Europe for the first time as well as a triumphant return to Japan.

The band are already writing material for the next RAVEN opus, slated for a early 2018 release and 2017 will have a USA tour, European festivals and more “firsts”!!

In a cynical musical landscape these days, where bands are not “gangs” but corporations...where albums and live shows are click-tracked & Pro-Tooled to death… where a band’s line up can change every few months with “hired guns” who float in and out - RAVEN are almost alone among their peers in that they boast a lineup featuring the same three guys – a line up that has been stable for the better part of THREE DECADES!!! RAVEN are a band that is REAL not FAKE – and proud of it!
Dead By Wednesday
Dead By Wednesday
In 2005, Dead By Wednesday made their first mark by releasing their debut CD Democracy is Dead on Jasta of Hatebreed’s Stillborn Records which sold 3K out of the box with it’s debut. Then in 2008 came The Killing Project, the highly anticipated sophomore full length CD on Eclipse Records (Mushroomhead, Scum of the Earth). The Killing Project demonstrated with a punch to the face, New Haven CT’s very own aggressive hybrid of metal, punk, & real hard core. While considered a metal band, DBW’s older sound was once called “cross-over”. With songs of urgency & importance regarding ideas on religion, current world affairs, race & equality, it was destined to make an impact. And it did. Shortly after, the video for the single ‘Pawns’ by Grammy nominated producer David Brodsky of My Good Eye, NYC, went into rotation on MTV2’s former show ‘Headbanger’s Ball’, as well as Music Choice, Havok TV on Demand, Sirius Liquid Metal, Rock Band, Touch Tunes, and even placed in UFC. Then in 2011, the band worked on all new brutal material & went into the studio recording their equally as important junior LP with long time friend & producer Enoch Jensen. Dead By Wednesday was focused on making “their Master of Puppets” dubbed The Last Parade, and some believe they succeeded in doing so. The release of The Last Parade was followed by a full U.S tour with Straight Line Stitch and Defiler, sponsored by the clothing line Hatewear, Inc. Two of their music videos from the album were featured on Comcast on Demand, one of which was screened at various film festivals across the country. Dead By Wednesday went on to snag the “Best Metal” award two years in a row at the Connecticut Music Awards. Their fourth release in 2014 was a short but sweet five song powerhouse EP entitled Death of the Rockstar, that leaves you wanting more. Following its release, Dead by Wednesday went on a US tour with the Grammy nominated metal band Shadow’s Fall, playing sold out shows across the country. Next they did an American East Coast tour with power metal legends Flotsam & Jetsam, as well a short run with Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (D.R.I.).

In 2015, DBW had to part ways with their frontman, Joe Morbidelli, due to personal issues. In response to his heartbreaking departure, the band recorded their newest album, Darkest of Angels. Each song features a guest singer from a prominent metal band of the past decades, including Brian Fair of Shadow’s Fall, Carley Coma of Candiria, Rob Dukes of Generation Kill/ex-Exodus, Waylon Reavis formerly of Mushroomhead, Jon Arch of Fates Warning, AK of Flotsam & Jetsam and many more. The theme of the album is addiction, as an ode to their former frontman. The album will be released in the spring of this year.

After months of auditions, DBW finally found their newest singer, 6’5 powerhouse Rob Roy from Ma. Together with Joey Concepcion on guitar (who also plays in Armageddon with Arch Enemy’s Chris Amott), Opus on drums (who also plays with Marc Rizzo of Soulfly) and Mike Modeste on bass, the band has morphed into a “real” unstoppable international act. They are a band that can be put up on the same stages with any of the top metal contenders “of the now.” Throughout the years they have toured relentlessly, and in doing so have found their own sound and style, creating a fierce loyal fan base along the way. Now, with all the right members in place, they have all the pistons of this metal turbo engine running full throttle, and are without a doubt a serious force to be reckoned with.
